From Sainte-Colome to Somport Pass (Pyrenees-Atlantiques)

The GR®108 is a 45 km long trail that begins in Sainte-Colome, a charming village nestled in the heart of the Ossau Valley. The trail follows the course of the Gave d’Ossau, a river that winds through the valley, passing through several picturesque villages such as Louvie-Juzon, Bielle, Aste-Béon, Béost, Laruns, and Les Eaux Chaudes. The churches, traditional Béarnaise houses, and castles bear witness to a richly preserved heritage. The Ossau Valley is renowned for its exceptional biodiversity. Along the trail, you can observe a variety of fauna and flora, ranging from marmots and chamois to wild orchids. The Pic du Midi d’Ossau dominates the landscape, serving as an emblematic landmark throughout the route. The trail culminates at the Somport Pass, at an altitude of 1,632 meters, a historic route once used by pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela.
