The Grande Randonnee 124 trail (GR®124) is a magnificent route that connects the Therain Valley in the Oise department to the Canche Valley in the Pas-de-Calais department. Spanning a distance of approximately 222 km, it offers hikers the opportunity to discover breathtaking landscapes and immerse themselves in the region's history. The starting point of the trail is located in Cires-les-Mello, in the Oise department. From the very first steps, hikers are enchanted by the beauty of the Therain Valley. Following the trail, they pass through the picturesque Hez-Froidmont Forest. The GR®124 continues its journey by traversing the Breche Valley. Along the way, hikers also have the opportunity to visit the ruins of Folleville, which bear witness to the region's historical past and are associated with Saint Vincent de Paul. The hike continues along the Noye Valley, and then the Avre Valley, allowing hikers to discover diverse and charming landscapes. The Somme Valley is then reached, with Corbie serving as a waypoint. This part of the route is particularly interesting as it offers the opportunity to explore the Somme Valley and discover its rich cultural and natural heritage. After leaving the Somme Valley, the trail joins the Authie Valley near Doullens. The Authie Valley is renowned for its natural beauty and picturesque landscapes. Finally, the GR®124 completes its journey in the Canche Valley, in the Pas-de-Calais department, at Rebreuviette.
