Seine River trail

From Dijon (Cote-d'Or) to Le Havre (Seine-Maritime)

The GR®2, also known as the Seine trail, is a scenic 858 km route that stretches from Dijon to Le Havre. This trail, which can be enjoyed in any season, is relatively easy to traverse, especially in its eastern part. The trail follows the banks of the Seine from its source in Saint-Seine-l’Abbaye (Côte- d’Or) to its estuary in Le Havre. Along the way, it offers the opportunity to discover impressive natural sites such as the rocks of Orival in Seine-Maritime, as well as cultural treasures that are often little known. As you follow the river, the path provides access to several notable sites. These include the Benedictine abbey of Saint-Seine in Côte-d’Or, the house of Mallarmé in Vulaines-sur-Seine (Seine-et-Marne), Giverny, and Château-Gaillard (Eure), among others. In its Normandy section, the trail guides walkers towards the abbeys of Saint-Martin-de-Boscherville, Jumièges, and Saint-Wandrille, which are either Benedictine or Clunysian. This journey along the GR®2 is not just a walk, but a voyage through nature and culture.
