The Route Napoléon holds significant historical importance, as it follows the path taken by Napoleon Bonaparte in 1815 after his escape from Elba. This route allowed him to avoid the Rhône valley and reach Grenoble before advancing to Paris. The trail traverses varied landscapes, crossing the pre-Alps, deep valleys, and forests. Along the way, hikers will encounter numerous historical sites, including small villages and monuments associated with Napoleon's passage.
