GR®714

From Bar-le-Duc (Meuse) to Dombrot-le-Sec (Vosges)

Chemins de Grandes Randonnees

The GR714 is an invitation to explore the heart of eastern France through a mosaic of Lorraine landscapes. The journey begins in the ducal city, a jewel of the Renaissance, before venturing into the vast forests of the Meuse region, where nature reigns supreme. Passing through Ribeaucourt, hikers discover a peaceful rural landscape of verdant valleys and limestone plateaus. The trail takes on profound historical and spiritual meaning in Domrémy-la-Pucelle, the birthplace of Joan of Arc. Following the meanders of the Meuse River towards Bazoilles-sur-Meuse, the terrain becomes gentler, revealing abundant aquatic wildlife and preserved wetlands. The route then branches off towards the Vosges Mountains, reaching the prestigious spa town of Vittel, renowned for its Belle Époque architecture and majestic parks.
